Buckingham Module Coding

The Buckingham module coding system is a flexible system for evaluating the quality of the learning experience. It can be used for different kinds of evaluation, based on the nature of the program. It allows for special circumstances to affect the final grade. However, it cannot be applied to modules that are 1000 or Buckingham Diagnostics 2000 level or are part of the BA International Honours programme. If a module earns passing grades students are able to keep their credit. However, they will not be included in the calculation of degree classification. Students who fail a course will be able to take another assessment. In these instances, the second attempt will be regarded as the first.

S-coding

S-coding permits the allowance of particular circumstances that can affect a student's final grade. However, this method is not able to be applied to modules at 1000 or 2000 levels, or modules that are part of the BA International Honours programme. Students who get an acceptable grade on an assignment is permitted to keep the credit, but the outcome is not included within their degree classification. In the event of a failing grade the student is given another chance to review the course. The further assessment will be treated as a first attempt.

Special circumstances

The Buckingham Class station is an all-modular design with the only exception of its main structure. The code of this module requires a lot of attention and care. This is due to the module's metering and other systems need to be thoroughly tested. It is also essential to disconnect all utility trunks and hard connections.

There are a number holodecks inside the Buckingham Class station. These holographic systems are much smaller than the Federation Holodecks. They're not as precise and therefore aren't suitable for enlisted personnel. Holographic facilities can be found in 30 modules across the Federation. The holographic features weren't included in the original station layout.

A typical station in this kind has large lounges that have an informal atmosphere. These areas aren't controlled by rank, so officers with lower ranks don't need to address their superiors with the "sir" greeting. They are free to voice their opinions in a secure environment. Additionally, the lounges are considered to be the social hub of the station.

Apart from social services, the Buckingham Class station can also be used for diplomatic relations. The Federation and Starfleet are represented by the Commanding Officer of such stations. As as such, foreign governments are invited to establish embassies at Buckingham Class stations. They are situated on a deck shared with the Ambassadorial Suites, making them an easy way to interact with other foreign governments.

Regulations

The Regulations for Buckingham module coding are a set of guidelines that the university must adhere to to ensure the quality of its courses. These rules cover everything from the referencing of sources to the evaluation of students. If the student is accused of plagiarizing, the university must take action via a formal process.
