自己紹介
A 3-wheel buggy is used for off-road walking and for traversing terrains such as rough roads or tracks in woodlands. They are also easier to move up and down kerbs as opposed to 4-wheel models.
MadeForMums reviews editor Kath tried one of these 3-wheelers with her newborn and three year old, and put it through its paces on the asphalt and on the muddy ground. You can read her review here.
Stability
Four-wheel buggies with their centre of gravity balanced by your child's weight in the seat are generally more stable than three-wheelers. However, that doesn't mean an older model with three wheels isn't worth a look, since some of these models are designed to handle everything from rough terrain to busy high streets.
Find a buggie with large rear wheels and a lockable wheel on the front. This makes it easier to drive and less likely to fall apart when you're on bumpy roads. These all-terrain buggies also come with pneumatic tires that are perfect for handling non-paved surfaces. They can be used even on sandy beaches and woodland tracks.
They're also great buggies to jog with since they offer excellent stability in rough terrain, and can help you stay with your running companion. They can also be used to go up and down steep kerbs, and many of them come with a spring suspension that is built-in, so your child will enjoy a smooth ride.
The main thing that makes a 3-wheeled pushchair difficult to maneuver is the broad frame, which makes it difficult to squeeze through narrow and tight doorways than a 4-wheeler. However some manufacturers have solved this issue by implementing an innovative design that makes the wheels turn up when they are not in use, which decreases their overall size and allows you to get through doorways with ease.
You'll also need to consider whether the buggy you choose to use is suitable for your baby from birth or if you're thinking of using it in conjunction with an infant car seat or carry cot. If so, ensure that it is in the ability to lie flat and if the design is compatible with other seats and buggy boards (if you're planning to put a toddler onboard). A lot of 3-wheelers fold flat, and later be stacked upright. This is a great option when you have limited space in your boot or have limited storage at home. However, some will require you to take out the front wheel when folding in order to fit in even more compact spaces.
Manoeuvrability
Three-wheeled buggies typically provide better maneuverability than pushchairs with four wheels. They often have a swivelling wheel on the front that allows you to shift direction quickly and steer using just one hand. Some models also come with a lockable front wheel that can provide stability on rougher terrain. Some models can be used with an additional buggy or seat, should you decide to grow your family.
If you intend to take your three-wheeled buggies off the paved roads then you should opt for one with pneumatic tyres. They can handle even the most difficult terrain. They may have to be filled from time to time, but they will be more durable and puncture-proof than solid tyres. It is recommended to choose models with an adjustable front wheel that is locked to assist you in navigating difficult terrains.
Having a single front wheel could mean that three wheel buggies-wheelers tend to be more bulkier than buggies with four wheels when folded. Be sure that the model you pick fits in your car's boot and can be positioned upright if needed. Certain models can fold in one hand, and they're freestanding when collapsed. This will save space in smaller car boots.
A well-constructed three-wheeled double pushchair 3 wheeler can take on any terrain, from busy streets to forest tracks. However, it is important to consider the purpose you'll use it for in the daytime. If you will be making the school run with it, it should be able to handle sharp slopes and kerbs. If you'll be running with it, ensure it has an adjustable lockable swivelling'stretch' for the front wheel to keep the ride steady.
Kath the MFM reviewer, was able to determine that her stroller with three wheels was able to handle urban and rural walks. Kath said it was able to negotiate rocky paths, cobbles, and bumpy pavements with ease and felt pleasant when running. It's also a great choice for day trips, since it offers plenty of storage space, including a huge ample basket with a zip-top cover and an expandable 50+ UV hood. It can also be modified to fit babies as young as an adjustable seat that can be sat on or a carry cot, in addition to being compatible with the majority of popular second-seats and buggy boards.
Fabric Sling Seat
The primary difference between a fabric sling and a modular seats is that the fabric sling is placed in the frame of the buggy as opposed to sitting on top of it as a modular seat would. This allows for a more ergonomically appropriate position for baby, which instantly delivers lower center of gravity that is at the proper height. This leads to a smoother push, a more light curb-pop (you don't need to exert the same effort and weight to lift the buggy off the curb) and improved balance and stability.
These buggy seats also feature Sling fabrics that are simple to clean and durable. These fabrics were designed specifically for Sling chairs and are highly durable and air-tight. They are also easy to maintain with mild soap and warm water.
If you're a jogger or are a fan of off-roading, an all-terrain 3 wheeler will be more suitable than a 4-wheeler. These models are generally larger base, more stable and utilise air filled tyres to allow for smooth and agile moving over rough terrain.

Modular Seat
Modular seating can be used to create an array of configurations to suit various seating requirements. Modular seating can be easily adjusted to create a cozy place to watch films, or an open layout for entertaining guests. Many modular seating systems also have cushion covers that can be removed which make it easier to clean up spills and stains.
Modular Seating can be designed to blend in with the existing decor or be a standout as an accent piece. A broad range of fabric, color, and shape options means that you will find an option for modular seating that fits your taste. There are many functional features offered in modular seating, such as hidden storage compartments that allow simple organization and clearing of living spaces.
3-wheel buggies are more stable than strollers with four wheels, which makes them ideal for off-road or all-terrain adventures. The large, highly manoeuvrable front wheel allows for agile and smooth movement, whereas the tyres are generally filled with air and have suspension, which gives you a great ride on even the roughest trails and roads. They're also great for navigating up hills because the wheels aren't as close ground as they are on 4 wheel pushchairs.
Often, 3-wheel prams are a popular choice for parents who enjoy running and jogging with their children because they offer superior agility and are more streamlined than their 4 wheel counterparts. The GB Upp XL for example features a sleek, burnished silver aluminum frame, which has an easy fold that can be folded in one hand and rear and forward facing seats. The Babyzen Yoyo has an all black frame, a carrycot that has a fully lie-flat position with air-filled tyres as well as 3 wheeler stroller recline positions.
